NAFCT Adds More Trainers to Certification Program

The National Association of Floor Covering Technicians (NAFCT) is pleased to announce that thirty-two (32) people have been inducted as trainers for the Substrate and Subfloor Preparation Certification. The newest trainers are technical representatives from NAFCT Educational Partners including: ARDEX Americas, H.B. Fuller, LATICRETE International, Inc., Loba-Wakol, LLC, Mapei Corporation, and Schönox, HPS North America, Inc.

In order to become a certified trainer, each person must complete the online course curriculum and pass the accompanying assessments, as well as attend a 1-day training seminar and pass the final exam with a score of 90% or better.

“NAFCT is committed to getting the training to you! With nearly forty (40) instructors’ nationwide classes can be held at retailer/distributor locations, educational partners training facilities or local conference centers. In addition, the classes will be held frequently meaning they fit better in your schedule,” commented Paul Pleshek, NAFCT Executive Director.

Paul added, “Every successful flooring installation starts with proper subfloor prep. That is why the Subfloor, Substrate Prep Course is a prerequisite for all NAFCT Installation Certifications.”

About the Substrate and Subfloor Prep Certification

Your NAFCT certification journey begins with the Substrate and Subfloor Prep Certification. In this course you will gain knowledge and understanding of: Wood Subfloors and Underlayment Materials, Wood Subfloor Construction, Components of Concrete, Concrete Subfloor Construction and Placement, Concrete Problems and Causes, Thick Pour Gypsum Underlayment, and Respirable Silica.
To confirm knowledge retention, lessons include short quizzes and upon completion of all lessons within the course, participants will need to pass a final exam. As part of the certification requirement, you will be required to attend a Substrate/Subfloor Training with one of our Educational Partners to receive the certification.
