Loba Wakol NAFCT Training

Loba Wakol NAFCT Training provides flooring professionals with comprehensive, hands-on instruction in subfloor and concrete preparation. This program combines classroom learning and in-person workshops to ensure participants leave equipped with the latest skills to improve installation quality, efficiency, and profitability. Certification is available through NAFCT for those completing both the online and in-person components.

The course emphasizes moisture mitigation, patching and leveling compounds, estimating tools, and substrate evaluation, providing a practical foundation for real-world flooring installations. By attending this training, installers can confidently manage jobsite challenges while meeting industry standards.

Training Overview

The Loba Wakol NAFCT Training includes:

Comprehensive subfloor evaluation and preparation methods
Concrete substrate inspection and moisture mitigation
Proper use of patch, ramp, and leveling compounds
Estimating tools and techniques for accurate project planning
Hands-on demonstrations and practical application exercises

Participants complete online modules, quizzes, and a final exam (minimum 80% score) before attending the in-person training. This blended learning approach ensures a strong understanding of theory combined with applied skills.

Certification & Requirements

To earn Substrate & Subfloor Prep Certification through NAFCT, attendees must:

Register for Loba Wakol training
Complete online learning modules
Score at least 80% on the online exam
Attend in-person training

Fees:

NAFCT Members: $100
Non-Members: $200

Prerequisite: Minimum of six months experience installing resilient flooring products is recommended to maximize learning outcomes.

Wakol Next Level Concrete Prep

Dates: March 24-26, 2026 or October 27-29, 2026

Location: Loba Wakol Headquarters | Wadesboro, NC

Attendees will focus on concrete substrate evaluation and preparation methods. This will include moisture mitigation, estimating tools, and proper use of patch, ramp, and leveling compounds. (3-day course)

This training qualifies for the in-person training component needed to receive the Substrate and Subfloor Prep certification.

To complete the certification process, in addition to attending an in-person training, each person must complete the online learning modules and pass the online final exam with an 80% or better score.

NAFCT SUBFLOOR PREP INSTRUCTOR

Eric Underwood has worked in the flooring industry over 20 years. He started his career in the flooring industry, working at a carpet warehouse unloading trucks and selling carpet and vinyl. Eric then transitioned to working as a helper for a carpet store where they installed all types of floor coverings. He worked as a helper for about 6 years until Eric was able to go out on his own and started his own installation company. He subcontracted for many different flooring stores until 2010. In 2011 Eric started contracting all of Stanly Interiors work until October 4, 2021 when he took the job at Loba- Wakol North America working with the Technical department as the Wakol application Specialist
